 U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch

Orrin Hatch was raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1952. Here is a picture of him as a Junior on the 1950-51 high school basketball team and he started as a senior. Orrin later graduated from Brigham Young University, became a lawyer in Pittsburgh and later Denver and then Salt Lake City where he ran for U.S. Senate and won his first election over twenty years ago. I have heard he has attended all Baldwin Class of 1952 reunions in Pittsburgh.

Feb 2007 Mini: Super Bowl Pool Winners

Wayne Dibartola again managed our Super Bowl Pool in a manner that Tony Rupeppi or Frank Valenti would be proud of. This year's exciting Colts-Bears rainy match up saw winners Walt Lapinski, Eileen Erskine Slater (final score winner - double bucks) and Jack Knee l-r with Wayne second from left. There was some speculation whether Jack will report this on his income tax return? We did buy a block for prior repeat winner the late Dick Kording but, alas, it did not win.

 Feb.6: W.C. Brandtonies Cup 2007 Winners

This year the golf "Scramble" format went to three threesomes and coming in a gross two-under par was this winning team composed of graduates from Baldwin in 1951. Left-to-Right is shown Wayne Dibartola, Sally Enkoff Boyer and Ken Wuerthele during the banquet at Le Pavillon on San Marco Avenue across the street from our Comfort Suites headquarters for the three days of festivities. Plans will be formulated for the next Mini in the winter of 2008 and will be announced after Labor Day this year. While nine members golfed thirty-one others enjoyed two days of sights in Historic St. Augustine which was founded by the Spanish in 1565. although five of the eight "Mini's" held since 1997 have been in St. Augustine we all found several places that we had not visited before and the tour train trolley was an aid to getting around with it's twenty stops.
